OUTLINE SMOKING TABOO/TEMPTATION

DRAFT PIN UP OF INSTALLATION
Throughout my process of my main theme idea my intention was to design and illustrate the series through an animation video. Animating 3 taboos/temptations that were mostly popular within today, smoking, stripping, and modelling, whilst having the animation being played in an endless loop with ambiance sounds. The animation itself portrays my intention stronger through its visuals and sounds envisioning it in a real life situation.
I experimented with different styles in illustrating my character by using ink, pencils, pens and digital. I had tough experiences through developing these different techniques of drawing especially ink. I personally aren't very well experienced with using ink or ink pens as I practiced a couple of times and have used it in my final which exceeded my expectations.
Personally illustrating is something I enjoy doing as this made me find this project enjoyable and interesting.

ATTEMPT ON JAPANESE INK BRUSH
Experimenting with a mixture of pens and ink techniques I have personally found it challenging though enjoyable. This experience has led me to create more drawings and sketches with ink/pen, practicing had made me include this in my final design project. I have used a Japanese brush pen, calligraphy pen, and a variety of fine line pens. I have also experimented with a water-brush to add shadows.

STRIPPING TABOO/TEMPTATION
I used a comic like style animation to help enhance portraying my idea about taboo and temptations around women.
In the first half of my brief animation I used the word "stripping" part of my taboo/temptation theme, overall jobs like this is considered bad for a woman to live off, this position of employment is most likely to downgrade women. I used the program photoshop to draw and animate them, I drew 3 illustrations to create motion in that particular environment subtle club music.
SMOKING TABOO/TEMPTATION
In this scene I have displayed my character to be shown her smoking through 2 illustrations played in a loop. I have added a fade in transition for each frame in photoshop timeline overall to create a comic style animation.
She is framed by smoking in a city environment, I have enhanced this environment by adding ambient sounds of the city and lighting up and cigarette and blowing. While using photoshop to draw and colour I've also modified a city photograph and filtered and edited it to appear unfocused and drawn. In doing this I wanted to capture the viewers eye towards her in the centre.

MODELLING/BODY MODIFICATION
TABOO/TEMPTATION
Finally I have illustrated my final brief animation by depicting the taboo/temptation of modelling and body modification through 2 frames. In these 2 frames I have digitally illustrated in photoshop 2 model poses with a fade in transition to depict motion and appearing as a camera flash. I have included ambient camera flash sounds to enhance this taboo/temptation. I've first hand drawn these frames to test out which pose would fit better. Illustrating this and the others in clean line art first then adding shading with a variety of Photoshop brushes has polished the animation to visually be appealing.

I envision my final design project to be exhibited through a screen in the centre for the animation with my series of taboos and temptations layered on each other, taped with masking tape surrounding the screen in the centre. I have provided a draft above creating a layering effect towards my intention. Using the masking tape adds a depth towards my theme as treating women worthless and disgraceful if they'd attempted or gave in any of these taboos/temptations.
